Scheduling Volunteers for Your Event Just Got Easier!

Volunteers are the heart of any successful school and they are absolutely essential for hosting a profitable fundraiser through Pride Fundraising.

As schools continue to make the switch from junk-food and product sales to healthier more profitable fundraising events, they may need additional tools to recruit and communicate with their volunteers.

We are pleased to introduce a new partnership with VolunteerSpot where doing good, just got easier.

VolunteerSpot was launched in Spring 2009 with the mission of enabling anyone to quickly mobilize and coordinate volunteers in their school, community, congregation or social network.

VolunteerSpot's simple sign-up application makes it easy for community members to participate and say YES to volunteering. No waiting for approvals and passwords, no software to install, just easy, free scheduling and sign-up tools for everyday heroes making a difference.

Best of all, VolunteerSpot's basic service is free! If you should decide to upgrade to their premium service, just use the promo code "PRIDE100" to receive the first three months FREE.

Thunder and Lightening

Went to the office this morning only to find that a tree out front, only 15 feet from the window, was stuck by lightening and somehow the surge affected the Internet access and phone system. It also crashed two computers, a wireless router and two printers.

I guess we were lucky, it could have hit the building and started a fire. I was able to round up my backup drive which was fully backed up from the day before and copy all the data onto the laptop computer.

I called the cable company that provides the phone and Internet, they are a week out from getting us up and running. Not to worry, our phone system is in the cloud and I will point all incoming calls to our cell phones.

I stopped at McDonalds and used their free Internet to download an application that turns my cell phone into an Internet modem. We will still get work done, but it will be bumpy until we get our computers replaced and the phone and Internet up and running.

This was a wakeup call. I really need to consider storing more data, on a regular basis, to our on-line storage service. In the past I've only used it for transferring large files to printers and partners - But I think I need to consider using it for back up on a weekly basis.
